The First Lithuanian Book

The appearance of the first book "The Plain Words of Catechism" by M. Mazvydas in the Lithuanian language in 1547 was one of the greatest events throughout all Lithuanian history.

Martynas Mazvydas, the author of this book, was persecuted by Catholics and expelled from Lithuania. Catechism of Martynas Mazvydas is significant not only for being the ABC book of the Lithuanian language, but also for its spiritual content. Regrettably, this side of the book was never emphasized. Lithuanian people are ignorant of the revivals and God's movement through the Christian history. Many of them identify the Body of Christ only with the Catholic Church. Once, as pastor Giedrius Saulytis taught under the strong anointing and in godly wisdom, he revealed the real truth about Catechism of M. Mazvydas. For the first time God showed the prophetic significance of this book. The Lithuanian reformer was prophesying the future of our nation; and it exactly came to pass. He also spoke about the days of Great Revival, which no force will able to stop. We firmly believe that his prophecy is being fulfilled now, 440 years later.
